With a wide range of mattress types, sizes, and firmness options available at DFS, we like to think we have a mattress to suit every sleeper.

The majority of our mattresses are available in several sizes, but you can easily browse all our single, small double, double, king size, or super king size mattresses on our website.

We also offer a range of mattress types, which all offer different benefits for different types of sleepers.

• Pocket sprung - Isolates movement and offers great airlflow, ideal for couples or hot sleepers
• Memory foam - Adapts to your body for targeted support where you need it, night after night
• Combination or hybrid - The best of both worlds, generally combining pocket springs and memory foam into one mattress
• Open coil - The traditional mattress construction, with a spring interior - often popular with those looking for orthopedic support, or growing kids and teens
• Rolled - These mattresses are compressed and rolled in the factory, meaning they are much easier to move around your house upon delivery. They can also often be delivered really quickly, too!

If it's firmness level that's the key for your comfort, then you can also browse by mattress firmness - including soft, medium soft, medium, medium firm, firm and extra firm.

There are many criteria to consider when choosing a mattress, so it's easy to get a bit overwhelmed!

You will need to think about:

• The size of mattress that works for your space
• Your preferred firmness level
• How you sleep, for example on your back, side or front
• If you need a hypoallergenic mattress, or if you have allergies to any common mattress materials (like latex)
• Which mattress construction (e.g. pocket sprung, memory foam, open coil) works best for how you sleep
• Whether you need a rolled mattress
• Which other features may be important to you, like breathability, natural fillings, or eco-credentials

Well, good news - our mattress care guide is packed with expert tips on how to clean your mattress, as well as ways to protect it and ensure it continues giving you a great night's sleep, night after night.

The average lifespan of a mattress is between five to ten years, and the National Bed Federation recommend replacing your mattress around every seven years - but many factors affect how long a mattress might last in your home, including:

• How well the mattress is cared for
• The sleepers’ body weights
• The type of mattress

Generally, higher quality mattresses with premium fillings and construction will last much better than budget mattress ranges, but all mattresses will soften over time as they are slept on.

If you want your mattress to last as long as possible, look for a mattress that includes a longer guarantee, and check out our mattress care guide for tips on how to look after it.
