What size is a double bed?
While there may be slight fluctuations, the standard size for a double bed is 4’6” x 6’3” (or 135cm x 190cm, for those who prefer metric measurements).
Those measurements are the same for double mattresses too, if you were looking to double up on your bedroom furniture in one fell swoop!
However, bear in mind that sizes can vary with different types of beds. For example, double beds with headboards may be slightly longer than 6’3”, while a bed with storage can be wider than 4’6”. So, it’s important to check the specific length and width displayed on each product page.

Are double beds bigger than queen beds?
Also known as a small double, queen beds are slightly smaller than a standard double.
Both are the same length (6’3”), but doubles are slightly wider than queen sizes, offering an extra 6 inches of space. It might not sound like much, but this extra room can make quite the difference come bedtime, whether you love to spread out on your own or cuddle up with your partner.
