What’s an appropriate age for bunk beds?
As a parent, you’ll always know the correct answer for your children. At DFS, we recommend that children no younger than six years sleep on the top bunk for their safety and your peace of mind. Every family is different, so you’ll know when your child feels comfortable climbing up and down safely, but the top bunk is best suited to older kids who are steady on their feet.
Are bunk beds safe?
Our range of children's high sleeper beds are designed to feel sturdy, secure and easy to use every day. Strong frames, supportive guard rails and reliable ladders all play their part, but of course you should remind your little ones that their bunk bed isn’t a climbing frame. As with any bed, it helps to check fittings now and again, and make sure your smaller snoozers understand how to climb up and down safely.
