From our in-store colleagues who help you find the furniture that’s just your thing, to our delivery and installation experts who make sure it arrives in your home safely - and everyone in between who keep our stores, workshops, warehouses, websites and offices running smoothly - we work hard to ensure everyone at DFS is supported, valued and appreciated for the hard work they put in. Every colleague is unique, so they each have unique needs - which is why we do everything we can to foster an inclusive workplace to support every colleague where they need it.
We’re dedicated to making our colleagues feel at home. We achieve this by embodying our core values, which are the very essence of who we are. These values are not just words on a page; they are the guiding principles that shape every decision we make.
Colleague networks are a brilliant way to unite like minded people and help us become more inclusive as a Group - a place for our colleagues to find their community and collective voice. We already have six networks established with the DFS group, including for our LGBTQ+ and Afro-Caribbean communities, women and our disabled colleagues. Each colleague network is chaired by a passionate DFS team member, who is sponsored by a member of our executive team for additional support.
A group of highly engaged people who care about gender equality, approaching the subject from a real action orientated direction. The name was inspired by International Women’s Day, because we believe it’s an all year round conversation, and are flipping the narrative to block out that one day a year!
A place for the LGBTQ+ community and its allies to educate and inspire each other, engage with like-minded people and build relationships. This is a safe space for open discussion and authenticity.
Our network is here to raise awareness of all disabilities visible and non visible in order to create a workplace where everyone feels they can bring their whole selves to work.
This is a thriving community celebrating Black culture and history, raising awareness around racial equality and encouraging better conversations.
Uniting people with caring responsibilities across the Group to not only support each other, but identify how the business can help us navigate the blend of our roles inside and outside of work.
A community of people of mixed Asian culture coming together to celebrate our heritage and welcoming to all, supporting the education of others.
As part of our commitment to diversity and inclusion within our organisation, we’re always working to improve our approach - and to help us do so, we’re active members of Inclusive Employers. Established in 2011, Inclusive Employers works with hundreds of organisations to audit, train and embed workplace inclusion. They are the first and leading membership organisation for employers committed to prioritising inclusion and creating truly inclusive workplaces. In inclusive workplaces, all employees are valued and contribute to the success of their organisation.
The DFS Group is proud to have achieved Bronze Inclusive Employers Standard, the highest level held by any retail member in the UK.
We’re working hard to create a culture where everyone is welcome. A big part of this is supporting our colleagues, and their loved ones, to lead happy, healthy lives at every stage.
