Rachel Nimz Taylor - Sleep and Bedroom

Rachel is our bedroom Senior Buyer, meaning she’s responsible for identifying market trends, developing beautiful new bedroom products, and bringing them to life! In her 4 years at DFS, she’s used her bedroom buying expertise and keen eye for visualising designs to help our customers with all things sleep style, from buying your perfect bed to sizing up a new mattress.

After graduating with a degree in European Marketing and French, Rachel found herself in her first buying role for a textile retail company in West Yorkshire – and her love of all things soft furnishings and home blossomed from there. Since then, she’s racked up 25 years of work in buying, with experience in everything from towels and bedspreads, to jewellery and gifts, to nearly 10 years specialising in beds, mattresses, bedroom furniture, and bedding. Rachel’s day-to-day work also sees her developing buying strategies and managing supplier relationships with big name brands like Silentnight and Sealy, all while doing the job she loves. Her work in the bedroom team has even helped DFS be named National Bed Retailer of the Year Award finalists three years on the trot – and winners in 2024!

When she’s not spotting the next big thing in bedrooms, Rachel can be found mooching around vintage shops for quirky upcycling finds, running around (and tidying up!) after her little boy, or keeping her body moving with daily yoga. She’s also an acceptable snowboarder – and an even better après skier! – thanks to a year abroad in Grenoble and loves to relax with a glass of Sauvignon and an Agatha Christie film
