What is a compressed sofa?
An innovative idea that turns the traditional, wood-framed sofa on its head - compressed, frameless sofas use vacuum-packing technology to shrink a foam-filled sofa right down after manufacture, reducing the logistics footprint and making the final delivery and installation process much easier. They’re ideal for rooms where the access might be complicated, whether they need to go up stairs, round tight corners, into lifts or through narrow doors.
Delivered to your door (for free) in 7 days
All our OnCloud9 sofas are stored in UK warehouses, ready to go - which means that for most UK addresses, they can be at your door, at no additional cost, in just 7 days.
Sofas made for apartment living

You might have seen compressed sofas before - but not like this. With unique hybrid interiors, responsibly sourced materials, and all models independently quality tested at accredited labs, you can be sure your OnCloud9 sofa will be head and shoulders above the rest.
Unique foam and pocket spring interior
The first of their kind in the compressed sofa category, OnCloud9 sofas combine layers of foam in varying densities for cosy comfort, with stabilising, supportive pocket springs. These elements work together to deliver longer-lasting, more supportive comfort - along with all the practical features of a vacuum-packed sofa.
Responsibly sourced materials
Fabrics and yarns across OnCloud9 ranges are proudly OEKO-TEX® STeP certified. This certification helps us to support responsible sourcing - ensuring materials adhere to the highest standards for social and environmental aspects of textile and leather production. It covers environmental and chemical management, social responsibility, fair working conditions, safety and protection for workers, and continuous improvement of production processes and efficient use of resources. This certification is a sign of responsibility towards employees and the environment, and supports our ongoing journey towards more sustainable production.
Independently accredited quality
This isn’t your average compressed sofa. All OnCloud9 models undergo independent quality and fatigue testing at accredited labs, ensuring they retain their shape, form and durability. In fact, we’re so confident of the long-lasting quality, we offer a 5 year guarantee as standard on all of our OnCloud9 sofas.
OnCloud9 Sofa FAQs
What is a compressed sofa?
A compressed, vacuum-packed or boneless sofa features a special foam interior, instead of a traditional wooden frame, that is vacuum-packed and rolled in the factory, shrinking it down to a small percentage of its original size to make the delivery process easier. OnCloud9 compressed sofas also have pocket springs inside them for additional comfort, longevity and stability.
Why do I need to leave it for up to 72hrs to decompress?
When your OnCloud9 sofa is unpacked it will start to decompress fairly quickly to start with, and then continue to do so over the next few days. To reach its final expanded size, we advise that this could take up to 72hrs, and you may wish to reposition your sofa after this.
Why is the sofa so heavy?
While there are no frames in our OnCloud9 sofas, the hybrid pocket spring and foam construction do come at considerable weight. This also helps to reduce the sofa moving around as you are sitting on it.
Will the sofa move on my laminate floor?
OnCloud9 sofas feature bobbled fabric and silicone strips on the base to help reduce unwanted movement on hard floors, but with enough force applied, the sofa will still move. If you want to minimise movement further, we recommend placing the sofa on a rug or carpet to help prevent movement between the pieces.
Can I squash the sofa back down if I move house?
The compression process at the factory uses special machinery and processes, and is designed to aid delivery for homes with difficult access, or for customers where a traditional framed sofa would not be suitable. OnCloud9 sofas are not designed to be recompressed at home, so we do not advise that the customer attempts to do this to the product.
Why do your compressed sofas have springs?
OnCloud9 sofas are a brand new innovation in the compressed sofa market. The addition of carefully placed springs helps the overall stability of the sofa, gives a more comfortable sit, and helps to maintain the longevity of the product.
Can the kids jump on it since there is no frame to break?
No, we don’t recommend letting your children jump on these sofas, as excessive force could still damage the springs and foam inside the sofa.
Will the sofa burst out the box in my face?
No, the sofa is also wrapped in a vacuum bag inside the box. Please take the product out of the box still wrapped in the vacuum packed bag, and place the sofa on the floor, before carefully opening the plastic with the safety knife included in the box - avoiding cutting the fabric of the sofa.
