Supporting Children In Need across the DFS Group
Ever since first becoming proud partners with BBC Children In Need back in 2013, at DFS we’re always looking for ways our support can have even more impact. That’s why in 2026, we’re dedicating our fundraising and furniture donations to the BBC CIN Emergency Essentials programme.
Supporting families in furniture poverty
Did you know that up to 6 million people in the UK are currently living in furniture poverty? The BBC Children in Need Emergency Essentials programme works to support these families, helping them get the household essentials they need to create a home.
Lead Furniture Partner for Emergency Essentials
We’re dedicating our fundraising and furniture donations to the BBC CIN Emergency Essentials programme which delivers home essentials like sofas, beds, tables & chairs, and white goods to families living in crisis.
Helping families and children…
In 2025, 22,000 children received support from Children In Need - and the need is rising.
An amazing 13,914 items were delivered to create better homes in just one year!
…living in crisis…
Support goes to families experiencing all kinds of crises - facing homelessness, fleeing domestic abuse, neglect, seeking asylum, death in the family or facing significant physical or mental health barriers.
…through accredited referrers
Families are referred by professionals from a wide network of over 4,000 active referrers, including local authorities, charities, and healthcare organisations - so the help goes to those who truly need it.
Did you know?

More than just furniture
At DFS, we know furniture means more than just somewhere to sit. For families living in furniture poverty, it’s a vital step towards living a comfortable life, filled with things many of us take for granted.
It’s more than a bed…
It’s the ability for a child to feel warm, safe and go to school rested and able to learn
It’s more than a sofa…
It’s the confidence to invite friends over, relax and be themselves
It’s more than a table…
It’s the chance for a family to sit together to share a meal, connect and feel like a family
