Menopause can disrupt your life in lots of ways - and the Silentnight lift breathe range makes sure bad sleep isn’t one of them. Specifically designed to regulate temperature and control moisture, you’ll wake up feeling fresher, more energised, more empowered. And more in control of your day ahead.
Menopause can lead to lack of sleep for many women. But why? It’s thought that a fall in oestrogen and progesterone affects the body’s temperature control and cortisol levels, which can often lead to hot flushes, night sweats and early morning anxiety. These short, sudden feelings of heat - usually in the neck and chest - can make skin feel sweaty, and make catching those all-important ZZZ’s a real challenge.
To help, Silentnight have designed and developed a mattress that is scientifically proven to reduce symptoms of the menopause - tried and tested by those affected by the symptoms…
Top to bottom, the Silentnight Lift Breathe range has been designed to alleviate common menopause symptoms, including night sweats and muscle aches. Let’s take a look inside at what each layer does…
Reduces night sweats by enhancing breathability, transporting heat and moisture away from the body. Breathable EcoComfort Fibres™ for cooler sleep - perfect for those who get hot during the night. FR chemical treatment free for a cleaner sleep environment. Hypoallergenic keeping you feeling fresh. Fully recyclable at end of life.
Superior tailored support soothes aches and pains 1600 Mirapocket® springs work independently, like piano keys. Mirapocket® springs spread your weight evenly across the mattress, whilst adjusting to your movements throughout the night. As well as isolating movement to minimise disturbances to you and your partner, the pocket springs result in support that’s personal to your body shape - giving extra support to your hips for enhanced spinal alignment.
Scientifically proven to help your body relax for quality rest and recovery, for a deeper, uninterrupted sleep. The Intense fabric reduces any additional build up of static induced cortisol levels, allowing a better night’s sleep and a brighter start to the day. Silentnight’s Intense™ technology involves carbon woven into the fabric of the sleep surface. Carbon is proven to reduce static electricity, which builds up throughout the day. Reducing static electricity helps to reduce the amount of stress hormone cortisol your body produces.
Tackles over heating with cooling, cocooning, no compromise comfort. A real alternative to memory foam. The compromise when moving away from memory foam has always been on comfort. Silentnight’s new platinum comfort layer provides you with the pressure relief of foam for enhanced comfort. It also provides a superior soft foam-like feel, but allows ease of movement during the night and when getting up in the morning - helping you sleep better and wake up refreshed. 10x more breathable than memory foam but offers the same amount of pressure relief.
Night sweats and feeling too hot in the night reduced by 24%
Time to fall asleep, awakenings in the night and average temperature reduced
Sleep time, sleep quality and sleep efficiency were improved
The independent study was carried out by Awake, who are advisors to the industry on accident risks caused by tiredness and fatigue, specialising in providing effective strategies to improve safety and wellbeing. The work involved participants wearing actiwatches (sophisticated fitbits, as used in clinical studies to determine sleep quality and quantity) and keeping sleep diaries.
There’s a few simple things to do to care for your lift breathe mattress - all of which will be explained in the care leaflet that arrives with it upon delivery. On the way it arrives, after its removal from the packaging, please leave your mattress uncovered for a few hours - allowing the mattress to air will help alleviate any ‘new mattress smell’. To prolong the life of your mattress, we recommend using a mattress protector, which makes cleaning up spills quick and easy. All lift breathe mattresses are single sided, so all you’ll need to do is rotate your mattress ‘top-to-toe’ once a week for the first two or three months, and then monthly thereafter, so that settlement from body pressures are evenly distributed. This will prolong the lifespan of your mattress and ensure even settlement of the fillings. When rotating your mattress please ensure that you have assistance to avoid any accidents - for example, the spring system risks becoming damaged within the mattress if it falls on its side. You can keep your mattress clean with a gentle vacuum every so often - but avoid using detergents or chemical cleaners on your mattress, as this may damage the fabric and stitching.
All lift breathe mattresses come with a 5 year guarantee, that covers everything about the mattress. All we ask is that you follow the simple care advice that comes with the mattress! There’s no need to do anything to register your guarantee - simply keep hold of your receipt or order confirmation, showing when and where the mattress was purchased.
Yes - while the lift breathe mattress has been designed with women experiencing the menopause in mind, it is also suitable for their partners, for post-menopause, and the benefits also suit sleepers who find themselves overheating at night, or those who are looking for spine and joint support. The lift breathe mattress makes a great alternative to memory foam while offering a similar level of support and comfort, making it an excellent option whether you are currently experiencing the menopause or not.
