When I get home from work in the evening the first thing I do is kick off my shoes and sink into the sofa. It's blissful just to stretch out my toes and take a few minutes to unwind. When my children were younger the sofa was the place where all five of us would squeeze up and stretch out. One son would stand up on the seat and wave his toy sword about in time to his favourite TV show music. Our daughter would curl up in one corner with our cat Badger and the youngest went through a phase of hurling himself off the edge in a somersault.

Fast-forward a few years and a bunch of teenagers would be seated there wired into a PlayStation and Xbox. The sofa stood up to the wear and tear - just. Through different stages of family life our sofa has been a place where family and friends could relax and enjoy the good things in life.
